Story of Perseverance

We first met W husband, and his wife, S at the Fremont Community Church ESL class in the Spring last year. This young couple were newlyweds and had left Afghanistan during a turbulent time. They left their homeland with only the clothes on their backs. W shared how horrific the experience was leaving his country. Fortunately for us, W’s English was good and he helped us with the translating for the other students in the class. He shared with us that his wife is in her early months of pregnancy and wasn’t feeling her very best. The couple was fortunate to have a place to stay and W was now looking for work and healthcare. We continued to get to know them as S’s pregnancy progressed. We referred them to Pregnancy Choices clinic for some pre-natal care, were able to help W eventually find a job. The baby came in the summer, a healthy little boy. In February 2023, we were reunited with this family, as they came to our Diaper Distribution project. The baby is now about 8 months old, smiling, happy, active and healthy, Mom and Dad’s pride and joy.
